Warwick pubs scoop “best in area” prizes in local CAMRA awards
Incredibly thankful to all the amazing customers who voted for us. We’re officially the Heart of Warwickshire’s Best Pub and we can’t be more proud!
Thank you for enjoying our Real Ales with us over the years, ???? here’s to the next year!

The Old Fourpenny Shop Hotel in Warwick has clinched the title of the 2024 Heart of Warwickshire Pub of the Year. Selected by the votes of the local CAMRA branch members, the esteemed award was bestowed upon the establishment on Crompton Street just last week. Close contenders for the title, The Old Post Office and The Eagle, managed by the dynamic duo Rachel Silverthorne and Tim Maccabee, secured their positions as runners-up. Additionally, The New Inn, located in the picturesque village of Norton Lindsey, received the accolade of Best Country Pub.
“Congratulations to the winners of the 2024 Heart of Warwickshire Pub of the Year competition,” The Heart of Warwickshire CAMRA branch shared the news on its social media platforms. “We had a record number of members voting and it was really close between the top three.”
The trio of Warwick pubs made it into the 2024 edition of CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide. Like earlier editions, this latest one is the product of extensive compilation efforts by thousands of independent volunteers and features a list of 4,500 distinguished pubs nationwide. After the awards were handed out last week, The Eagle expressed their thoughts on Facebook.
“A huge thank you to all of our lovely customers and in particular those who voted for us in the pub of the year competition 2024.
“To get runner up with both The Eagle and The Old Post Office is amazing. Apparently, with exactly equal scores.
“Congratulations also to The Four Penny Pub who achieved overall winner. Perfect for an award winning mini pub crawl!
“Thanks also to all those who supply the lovely beer we enjoy!”
