“We booked a small reunion of friends and booked not knowing much about the hotel. From the outset, the staff were helpful, communication was good and helped to make our get together memorable. The staff were quietly attentive, competent and friendly, the food was good and the accommodation comfortable. We had a lovely weekend, everyone in our group of 12 commented on how good the hotel, staff and food were and were very complimentary. It was truly a lucky find and we would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for making our weekend a success!”
“I honestly can’t find fault with the hotel.
Our room was nicely decorated, plenty of room, nice en-suite shower room, coffee machine with Starbucks coffee, wifi, flat screen tv on the wall and a comfortable bed.
We had dinner at the hotel, I had a rack of BBQ ribs, my partner had pork belly, both of which were delicious. The bar also has a good selection of real ale including local brews. I would recommend booking a table as the bar/restaurant was busy.
The breakfast was equally as good. I had a full English and my partner had eggs on toast. All with extra toast and tea/coffee/juice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely stay here again.
“We have stayed at The Old Fourpenny Shop Hotel before and were happy to be welcomed by the new owners. The hotel has been extensively improved and we would be happy to stay there again. We can recommend eating in the restaurant.”
